An exploration of Colorado's South Park, a "grassland basin" in the Rocky Mountains, between the Continental Divide and the Front Range. No cartoon characters named Stan, Kyle, Eric, or Kenny, but plenty of beautiful scenery and interesting people!

- Ongoing Events:
- TGIFairplay - Every 4th Friday during the summer. Free Concert Series at Fairplay Beach. Bring lawn chairs. Vendors selling snacks & beverages, but bringing your own is fine, too. Music starts at 7pm. Check out acts at Fairplay Events
- Community Dinner and Bingo in Como - 6pm on the 3rd Saturday of every month. 719-836-3674. Community Lunch at the Senior Center Noon every Wednesday in Fairplay.
- South Park City Museum Open May 15-Oct 15
- 4th of July Parade and Fireworks (Fairplay) Live Music. 719-836-2622 for more information.
- 4th of July Chicken Fly (Guffey) This year there will be 30-50 hot rods and antique cars on display, games, live music, arts and crafts, a flea market, and food.
- Ladies Run of Colorado July. The annual celebration of motorcycle ladies (men also invited) includes aride from Denver to Fairplay, street vendors, a poker run, bike show, competitions, etc.
- South Park Ranch Rodeo July.
- Park County Fair July at the County Fair Grounds in Fairplay. Horse and livestock shows and competitions, 4-H and open exhibits, etc. Information at 719-836-4289.
- Festival in the Clouds. July. Alma's free outdoor art and music festival will have about 25 bands and 40 regional artists as well as food, children's activities, a beer garden, dancing and more.
- Burro Days. Last weekend in July in Fairplay. A celebration of the burros used in the mines of South Park, the weekend includes burro races, a llama race, a wonderful crafts fair (more than 140 booths), food vendors, music, a dance, a barbecue, pancake breafast and much more. All proceeds from Burro Days go to the Park County RE-2 schools. Information: 719-836-1921.
- Bayou Salado Rendezvous. Last weekend in July. Historical reenactment of the fur-trading era. 0.8 miles south of Hartsel on Colorado 9. Day visitors welcome. Those staying overnight must be in costume with historical-style gear. More information at 719-836-1921.
- Hartsel Days - August. (Hartsel) Vendors, fames, bbq and music on Saturday, pancake breakfast and parade on Sunday. Call 719-836-2233 for information.
- Rocky Mountain College Rendezvous First week in August in Pike National Forest at Lost Park near Jefferson.See website for details.
- Living History Day at the South Park City Museum August.
- Bead and Fiber Show - August. (Fairplay) Beads, jewelry, beaded items, fiber arts and more. 10am-5pm on Saturday, 10am-4pm on Sunday. More information at http://fairplayco.us - click on Fairplay Bead & Fiber Show in the Event List.
- Boreas Pass Railroad Day (Como) August. Mostly self-guided driving tour of the railroad route between Breckenridge and Como, with guides and programs at various stops along the way. Information at South Park Ranger Station, 719-836-2031.

- South Park Arts Celebration First weekend in September. A 4-day celebration of art and history for artists in all media, to capture the landscape of the mountains.
- Holiday Bazaar - early December at the South Park school in Fairplay.
- Sertoma Cowboy & Victorian Ball - December at the Fairplay Valiton Hotel.
